Services

The service we provide is called Befriending. Befriending allows callers to express their fears, worries and feelings, in complete confidence, to a Samaritan volunteer who listens supportively, unconditionally and non-judgmentally.

Callers can confide in our service in their own way and in their own time. Our listening service is supported entirely by our unpaid, trained volunteers, who donate on average 11,400 hours a year to our listening service.

The value of our volunteer-operated service is not only that volunteers help contribute more than HK$4 million worth of service, supporting one-third of our running costs. More importantly, this strong volunteer network of ours also helps encourage ordinary people of all ages, who are receptive and open-minded, to devote their time to help other ordinary people.
