Young Samaritans Peer Support Programme (YSPSP)

Objectives

Suicide is one of the leading causes of death in Hong Kong amongst the youth and young people tend to reveal their problems to their peers rather than adults or professionals. Peer support is the foundation of youth work. Our youth programme aims to train up secondary school students provide peer support to peers in distress. The programme consists of an outdoor activity and a series of workshop about listening skills, depressions, deliberate self harm and suicide issues. Student will spread the words in their own schools by organising school-based awareness programmes.

Who Should Join

If you are a form three to five student, you’re responsible, willing to take the time and effort to undergo the training and willing to offer your help to your peers, apply now!

Details

Remark: The study hours can be recorded in the Student Learning Profile (SLP) as an Other Learning Experiences (OLE)-Moral and Civic Education.

Course fee

HK$500.00 deposit (participants will be required to make a deposit on the selection day when passing the selection, those who has over a 80% attendance rate will be refunded at the end of the programme.
